George Richard Addington

George Richard Addington, 90, of Greenfield, passed away Sunday, June 4, 2023 at Shawnee Estates Senior Living in Xenia.  
 
He was born June 30, 1932 in Chicago, Ill., the son of Roy M. and Louemma (Barker) Addington.
 
George served in the U.S. Navy for four years and then Reserves for 30 years. He retired in 1981 as a glazier in construction.
 
He is survived by one son, David (Reta) Addington of Ashland, Ky.; two daughters, Rhonda (Chuck) Conley of Fairborn and Dawn (John) Swift of Leesburg; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta (Leach) Addington, on Oct. 20, 2021; one daughter, Cheryl Ann Addington; two sisters, Carman Archer and Margaret George; and both parents.
 
Funeral service will be Friday, June 9 at 6 p.m. at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield, beginning with a veterans appreciation service then Pastor Matt Burns to officiate. Military rites will be provided by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield followed by cremation.
 
Visitation will be Friday from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.
