George P. Gilmore, 94, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at his home.

He was born on May 7, 1926 in Chicago, Ill., the son of the late Paul and Phoebe (Steiner) Gilmore.

He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a welder and worked for Carl Evans dairy farm.

He is survived by cousins, Kenny (Kathy) Murphy of Hillsboro, Wayne (Mary Ann) Murphy of Hillsboro, Ramona Willis of Tennessee, Robert (Teresa) Evans of Hillsboro, Lisa (Mark) Leininger of Hillsboro, Daniel (Lisa) Evans of Wyoming and Jennifer (Bill) Mefford of Batavia; caregiver, Patricia Hale of Hillsboro; and numerous other family members.

Cremation will take place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
