George Merl Anstine

George Merl Anstine, 86, of Bainbridge, died Sunday, Feb. 14, 2016 peacefully at his home.
He was born Jan. 14, 1930 in Washington Court House, the son of the late Dean E. and Bessie Sibole Anstine.
Merl was an Army Veteran of the Korean War, where he saw action on the front lines. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 14 of Bainbridge where a memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, 2016 at the flagpole with Steve Alexander officiating and military honors by the Ross County Honor Guard. No calling hours will be observed.
On Jan. 29, 1953 he married the former Nettie Baker, who survives.
He is also survived by a daughter, Paula Goodfellow; five sons, Mickey (Alaine), Allen (Jenny), Kevin (Laurie), Joey (Monique) and Jeff Anstine; 13 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Marjorie Voorhees; and a nephew and niece, John and Carol Pierrson.
In addition to his parents, Merl was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
