Gayle (Alveda) Bear

Sue (Mike) Greaney, niece and Meaghan (Eric) Fite, great-niece, sadly announce the passing of our Aunt and Great-Aunt Gayle (Alveda) Bear on Sunday, Aug. 2 at Hospice of Dayton.
Gayle was not just an aunt and great-aunt, she was a mother and grandmother to us and our family. She will be remembered for being there to support us and love us unconditionally, as we did her. She was the only sitter for Meaghan, Brendan and Sean and would be very unhappy if Mike and I ever let anyone else stay with them. She and her dog, Trixie-Dixie-Babe lived with Meaghan, Eric, Andi, Bodi and Dessie the last couple of years and she will be greatly missed by them and all of her family, which includes: brothers, Rayman, Dale (Fritzi), Horace, Bill and Bruce; and sisters, Vera, Marilyn and Ruth (Dec. 2012), who were all very important to her.
She has numerous nieces and nephews who have special memories of her when she also stayed with many of them over the years. Her work family included the Smith Family of Kettering, Supreme Optical and Eye Mart.
Gayle donated her remains to the Boonshoft School of Medicine at Wright State University. She requested that donations be made to SICSA, 2600 Wilmington Pike, Kettering, Ohio 45419, which is where she adopted her beloved dog, Trixie-Dixie-Babe in 2011. Donations can also be made in her honor to Hospice of Dayton, 324 Wilmington Avenue, Dayton, Ohio 45420.
