Gary Wayne Hoggatt, 77, of Milford, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022 at the Bethesda North Hospital.
He was born Oct. 20, 1944 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Ralph and Lucille (Swain) Hoggatt.
He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, the United States Air Force and the Air National Guard. He retired after working many years as a diesel mechanic.
Gary is survived by three children, Stephanie (Ruen Jr.) Robbins of Blanchester, Stephen Hoggatt of Minot, N.D. and Kyle DeNise of Ripley; four grandchildren, Ryan (Chelsi) Chandler, Eryn Chandler, Madi DeNise and Josie DeNise; a great-granddaughter, Luciana Chandler; a sister, Joan (Paul) Gray of Shreveport, La.; a brother, David Hoggatt of Hillsboro; two sisters-in-law, Jolene Hoggatt of Wilmington and Connie (Peter) Noble of Circleville; and several nieces.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Terry D. Hoggatt and Stephen “Mike” Hoggatt; and a sister-in-law, Alice Jane Hoggatt.
A funeral service will be held Friday, June 3, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard will follow in the Troutwine Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
