Gary Thomas Newman, 70, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Dec. 17, 2021 at his home with his family by his side.
He was born Jan. 18, 1951, in Greenfield, the son of the late Robert Stanley Newman and Dorothy Mae (Johnson) Newman.
Gary worked as a machinist at Cincinnati Milacron and retired after 35 years. He enjoyed all sports, especially bowling, golfing, playing pool and tennis, and he loved to go fishing with his son and grandson. He will be deeply missed.
Gary is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Connie Newman, whom he married March 20, 1972 in Hillsboro; two sons, Jeremy Newman and Jason (Jackie) Newman, both of Hillsboro; two grandchildren, Benjamin “Ben” Newman and Chloe Newman; five siblings, Barbara Hughes, Diane Irons, Suzie Williamson, Martin Brakefield and Pat Parker; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Funeral service will take place following visitation Wednesday, Dec. 22 at 1 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home. Burial will follow services in the Hillsboro Cemetery.
