Gary E. Fenner

Gary E. Fenner, 75, of Winchester, passed away Monday, Jan. 13, 2025 at Highland District Hospital. 

He was born Sept. 2, 1949 in Highland County, the son of the late John “Jack” Fenner and Norma (Vance) Fenner. 

Gary proudly served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War, during which time he was stationed in Thailand. He worked at Ohio Department of Transportation as a mechanic and on the road crew for 33 years. Gary was a member of the Greater Life Assembly, never missing Sunday church or any event, and was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed watching football, drag races, and tinkering on anything with a motor. He will be deeply missed. 

Gary is survived by his mother-in-law, Mary Greathouse; three sisters-in-law, Bonnie (Denny) Owens of Xenia, Lisa (Jeffrey) McKinney of Hillsboro and Marsha McKeever of Hillsboro; special niece, Breanna (Matthew) Gallimore of Hillsboro; two nephews, T.J. Mottie and Jared McKeever, both of Hillsboro; a great-nephew, Theodore Gallimore; a step-niece, April Owens of Springfield; two step-nephews, Jason Owens of Xenia and Wesley (Robbie) Owens of Springfield; and many more step-great-nieces, step-great-nephews, and friends. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Fenner, on Jan. 10, 2019; father-in-law, William Greathouse; two brothers-in-law, Timothy Greathouse, and Glen McKeever; and a nephew, Jordan McKeever. 

Graveside services, with military honors presented by the Highland County Veteran Honor Guard, will be held in the New Market Baptist Cemetery privately. Memorials may be to the Greater Life Assembly, 12145 N. Shore Dr., Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
