Freddie Hoskins, 78, of Sardinia, passed away Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at Anderson Mercy Hospital.
He was born Aug. 10, 1942 in Hazard, Ky., the son of the late James Corbett Hoskins and Cara Woods Hoskins.
He joined the U.S. Army Reserves in the early ’70s. He was a member of Sardinia Church of Christ for many years while his health permitted. He was a truck driver for 40-plus years. His greatest joys in life were his wife, being with family and the Kentucky Wildcats (GO BIG BLUE).
Surviving are his wife, Kathy Hoskins, whom he married Dec. 26, 1991; a brother, James “Sonny” (Janice) Hoskins; sister-in-law, Carolyn Hoskins; a son, Gabriel (Bobbi) Hoskins, and a daughter, Stephanie (Shawn) Jones; three stepchildren, Danny Roberts, Kim Roberts and Missy (Chad) Cordrey; grandchildren, Krissia (Bill) Ennis, Nick Hoskins, Braydon Hoskins, Jade Jones, Alec Smith and Addy, Lexi and Logan Cordrey; great-grandchildren, Karsen, Jordan Ennis, Joshua and Elleana Hoskins; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Freddie was preceded in death by his sister, Velma Kay Cunningham; and his brother, Jerry Von Hoskins.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 27, 2021 at 2 p.m. at the Sardinia Church of Christ with Pastor Kevin Hamilton officiating, followed by burial in the Buford Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, 1-2 p.m. at the church.
