Frank Irvin Houk, 58, of Fayetteville, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at his home.  

He was born Oct. 22, 1961 in Wilmington, the son of the late Joseph C. and Mary R. (Huffner) Houk.  

Frank had been a longtime member of the Fayetteville Fire Department and Life Squad, beginning very early as a cadet. He was a retired heavy equipment operator.  

He is survived by his wife, Catherine “Cathie” (Algiers) Houk; a brother, Joseph N. Houk of St. Martin; a sister, Moira (Randy) McKamey of New Vienna; a sister-in-law, Agnes Houk of St. Martin; many “brothers and sisters” on the Fayetteville Fire Department and EMS; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John P. Houk and Ray E. Houk.  

A memorial service and celebration of Frank’s life will be held noon Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Fayetteville Fire Department. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at noon. Burial will immediately follow in the St. Martin Cemetery that will include Fire and Rescue Honors as well as his “last call.” A meal in his honor will be held immediately following services at the cemetery at the fire department.  

Memorial contributions may be made to the Fayetteville Fire and EMS Department, 100 Apple Street, Fayetteville, Ohio 45118.
