Frank C. Brannock, 79, of Leesburg died Friday July 22, 2016 at Hearth and Care of Greenfield.

He was born Aug. 7, 1936 in Fort Thomas, Ky., the son of the late Raymus and Irene Campbell Brannock.

Mr. Brannock was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He had retired as an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper after 20 years of service and had twice been named Trooper of the Year. After retirement, he served as a deputy for the Highland County Sheriff's Office, assisted the Hillsboro City Police Department as a dispatcher and had worked as an accident investigator for a federal agency.

Frank was a member of the Bainbridge American Legion Post 14, a member of the AmVets Post 61, a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161 and was an avid train lover.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Kindler Brannock, whom he married on Aug. 21, 1971; five children, Kevin (Judy) Brannock of Wilder, Ky., Tim (Shelley) Brannock of Alexandria, Ky., Debby (Jim) Kurtz of Sandusky, Terry Brown of Elyria and Shellie (Wade) Elking of Leesburg; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Teresa Hines; and one grandson, Joseph Brannock.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, July 27 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Military honors will be presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the funeral home.
