Frank Barber, 63, of Lynchburg, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Jan. 28, 2016 at his home.

He was born on Sept. 16, 1952 in Wilmington, the son of the late Virgil G. and Betty Jean (Griffith) Barber.

He was a respected home builder and had a lifelong love of farming.

He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Kathleen (Wilson) Barber, whom he married on Oct. 4, 1975 in Pricetown.

He is also survived by two children, Tina (Mikeah Trotter) Ashley of North Carolina and Scott (Andrea) Barber of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Destiny, DaNesha, Darnell and Mikayla; two great-grandchildren, KayLiana and Devonta Jr.; two sisters, Sandy (David) Brinkman of Fayetteville and Debbie Barber of St. Martin, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Barber.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 3 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial will follow in the Harwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home in Lynchburg.
