Floyd Wayne Colville, 78, of Hillsboro, passed away Sunday, Jan. 16, 2022.
He was born Sept. 20, 1943 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Demaree Colville and Helen Blanche (Neel) Colville.
Floyd was a U.S. Army soldier, Vietnam veteran and a faithful member of the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, where he served as one of the sound technicians. He was a member/past president of the Highland Amateur Radio Association (HARA).
Floyd married Carol S. Moore of Hillsboro on Sept. 20, 1974. To this union was born one son, Kevin W. Colville, who gave Floyd three grandchildren, Ivy, Nevaeh and Linken Colville, all from Hillsboro. Floyd’s parents raised a cousin, who then turned into a brother, John “Jady” Gregory. Floyd had two younger sisters, Deloris R. Colville and Donna C. Colville; and has two nephews, Justin (Cristy) Brown and Joshua Brown; and other nieces and nephews, Valerie (Tom) Mullikin, Teresa (Bob) Saucedo, John W. “Bill” Gregory II and H. Scott Gregory.
He was preceded in death by several other family members and friends and will be truly missed.
Funeral service will be Friday, Jan. 21, 2022 at 11 a.m. at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene with Reverend Tom Zile officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Family will receive friends Thursday, Jan. 20, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Media Ministry or Building Fund, c/o Hillsboro Church of Nazarene, 8230 U.S. 50, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
