Florence M. “Flossie” Hertenstein, 86, of Lynchburg died Sunday, July 10, 2016 at her home.
She was born April 14, 1930 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Homer and Mary Louise Crisenberry Hopkins.
Flossie had been a bartender for over 40 years and was a loving friend and caregiver to many.
She is survived by one daughter, Pam (Kelly) Scott of Lynchburg; four grandchildren, Nicole Patterson of Lynchburg, Casey Bechtel of Hilliard, James (Krystal) Scott and John Scott of Hillsboro; three great-grandchildren, Harper and Piper Bechtel and Kingston Scott; one sister, Freda Edwards of Sabina; two special friends, Robin Clonch of Lynchburg and Rachel (Nick) Tully of Sardinia.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Grooms and Helen Hopkins; and three brothers, Leroy, Richard and Irvin Hopkins.
Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, July 15 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg. Burial will follow in the Lynchburg Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
