Esther Sullivan
Esther Sullivan, 74, of Blanchester, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2024, surrounded by her family at her home.
She was born Aug. 8, 1950 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late James Ante and Nancy (Moorehead) Ante.
Esther lived a rich life filled with love, hard work and kindness that touched everyone she met. She was a faithful member of the Blanchester Church of the Nazarene, and she dedicated 37 valuable years of her life to the Blanchester Local Schools. From her humble beginnings as a bus driver, she climbed the ladder of success to retire as a respected bus supervisor. Known for her love of online shopping, Esther could often be found brightening her days with the latest finds on Amazon and QVC. This simple pleasure was a source of much joy and excitement in her life, sparking many conversations and shared laughs with her loved ones. Alongside her late husband, Jerry, Esther enjoyed traveling and seeing the world. The memories they created on their journeys will forever be cherished by those who were lucky enough to hear their fascinating stories. Her radiant spirit will be profoundly missed but will continue to live on through the lives she touched.
Esther is survived by her three children, Tracy (Bob) Stroud of Midland, Keith (Angie) Sullivan of Fayetteville and Erin (Mark) Watson of Blanchester; six grandchildren, Thomas (Shelbie) Stroud, Crystal (Alan) White, Nick (Bridgett) Stroud, Brandon (Kendra Scott) Sullivan, Alyssa (Austin) Caldwell, and Taylor (Chris Buescher) Watson; fourteen great grandchildren, Henry Stroud, Charlie Stroud, Sawyer Stratton, Clayton White, Owen White, Wesley Stroud, Alexander Stroud, Madison Durham, Hunter McLemore, Lillian McLemore, Caiden McLemore, Alexander McLemore, Dominic Buescher and Carson Buescher; three siblings, Nancy “Liz” Bollhauer, Jack Ante, Nancy (Daniel) Dryden, and a sister-in-law, Johnna Koehler.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry L. Sullivan; three siblings, James Ante, Virgil Ante, Joyce McGuire, and a brother-in-law, Frank Koehler.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 28 at the Blanchester Church of the Nazarene. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 29 at the church and burial will follow services in the Westboro Cemetery.
