Erma A. Ausman

Erma A. Ausman, 98, of Greenfield, passed away Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Greenfield Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
 
She was born on March 11, 1928, in Marshall, the daughter of Oscar and Nettie (Cooper) Chestnut.
 
She attended the Solid Rock Church of God in Greenfield.

She was a nurse’s attendant in three local hospitals and was the former owner/operator of the Country Corner Market of Greenfield, along with her husband.
 
She is survived by one daughter, Kathleen (Doug) Templin of Greenfield; one son, Irvin “Jr.” Ausman of South Salem; three grandchildren, Jackie (Doug) Sewell of Jeffersonville, Irvin “Willie” (Tiffany) Ausman III of Virginia and Carl Ausman of North Carolina; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
 
She was preceded in death by her husband, Irvin Ausman, on March 27, 2007; one grandson, Billy Terry; two sisters, Minnie Chestnut and Alice Gunsauley; three brothers, Delbert, Cecil and Austin Chestnut; and both parents. 
 
Funeral services will be noon Friday, July 3, at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor John Caskey and the Rev. Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will follow in the Coss Cemetery in Belfast.
 
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Friday, July 3 at the funeral home.
