Emmanuel J. Cota, 22, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, Jan. 8, 2021.
Emmanuel was born Aug. 13, 1998 in Wilmington, the son of the late Jessica Ann Huffman-Conner.
Emmanuel was a 2016 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt deer and turkey.
Emmanuel is survived by a son, Maxtyn J. Cota; two brothers, Raymond Conner of Lynchburg and Aiden Conner of Hillsboro; one sister, Chanda Conner of Fresno, Calif.; maternal grandfather, Marvin (Debbie) Huffman of Hillsboro; maternal grandmother, Gloria Grooms of Wilmington; fiancée, Maddie Cox; three nephews, Jay, Jo and J.C. Medellin; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Social distancing will be observed and masks will be required.
The Rev. Brad Huffman will officiate, with burial following at the New Antioch Cemetery.
Friends may call Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
