Emma L. Theener, 79, of Hillsboro, died Friday, Jan. 29, 2010 at her residence.
She was born at Laurel County, Ky. on Oct. 25, 1930, the daughter of the late Lloyd and Carey (Smith) Richmond. 
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Theener in 1994; companion of 25 years, Jim Curry; two daughters, Barbara Theener and Debra Jean Theener; and five sisters and two brothers.
She was a member of the Northview Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Mike and Sandy Theener of Hillsboro; one daughter, Sandy M. Theener of Hillsboro; three grandchildren, Travis (Amber) Theener, Sarah (Alan) Kier, and Katie (Parker) Foust; six great-grandchildren, Eli, Logan, Mahala, Theener, Briant, Alexis and Carly Kier; three brothers, James F. Richmond of Farmer City, Ill., George A. Richmond of Hillsboro, and Arthur Richmond of Cincinnati; two sisters, Amey Viola Hickson of Hillsboro and Martha Marie Theener of Beaver Creek.
Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 2 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Brother Jeff Griffin will officiate with burial to follow in the Mt. Olive Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from 5-8 p.m. at the Thompson Funeral Home.
