Ella Jane Smith, 86, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021 at Adena Greenfield Medical Center.
She was born Oct. 10, 1934 in Highland County, the daughter of Homer Bruce and Edna Marie (Karnes) Arnott.
Jane was a 1952 graduate of Edward Lee McClain High School. She was a member of the Fall Creek Friends Church, First Presbyterian Church of Greenfield and Hillsboro Chapter OES #441.
She is survived by one daughter, Abbie (Dean) Blain; two sons-in-law, Jeff Hazelbaker and Kenneth Yeakley; four grandchildren, Rachel (Kevin) Gerhardt, Brooke Hazelbaker, Jessalyn (Mark) Hunter and Louis (Shelby) Blair; six great-grandchildren, Jake Roeder, Abigail Gerhardt, Andrew Roeder, Ryan Roeder, Ian Hunter and Briggs Hunter; and one sister, Patricia (Danny) Hoop.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Smith, on Feb. 16, 2005; two daughters, Hobie Blair-Yeakley and Dixie Hazelbaker; three brothers, Gordon Arnott, Scott Arnott and Frank Arnott; and both parents.
Funeral service will be Friday, Feb. 12 at noon at the First Presbyterian Church in Greenfield with Pastor Mike Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenfield Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 10 a.m. until noon at the church.
Social distancing will be observed, and masks are encouraged.
