Elizabeth Thompson Russell, 94, of the Mowrystown community, passed away Thursday, Jan. 13, 2022 at Monarch Meadows in Seaman.

She was born Sept. 27, 1927 in Adams County, the daughter of the late Elvis Vernon Thompson and Goldie (Smalley) Thompson.

Elizabeth was a member of the Mowrystown Church of Christ. She enjoyed music and spending time with her family.

Surviving are her two sons, Danny Russell and Duane "Beanie" Russell, both of the Mowrystown community; five grandchildren, Wendy Campbell, Angie Edmonds, Heather Rowe, Aaron (Hope) Russell and Eric Russell; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Elizabeth was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Russell; a son, Douglas Kent Russell; a grandson, Chad Ryan Russell; four sisters, Lavora Windom, Delpha Neu, Geneva Fist and Allene Wardlow; and two brothers, Olen Thompson and Virgil Thompson.

Graveside services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 at Cherry Fork Cemetery, 14806 S.R. 136, Cherry Fork, with Pastor Chris Gobin officiating.

Edgington Funeral Home in Mowrystown is serving the family.
