Elizabeth Joan “Betty Jo” Cole, 85, of Hillsboro died Thursday, April 7, 2016 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.
She was born March 22, 1931 in Cincinnati, the daughter of the late Pern R. and May E. Schrimper Griffith.
Mrs. Cole had been a bookkeeper for Blanchester Oil Company and had retired after more than 20 years as a school bus driver for the Blanchester Schools.
She was a 1948 graduate of Blanchester High School.
She is survived by one daughter, Kelli Cole of Hillsboro; one sister, Beverly Biehle of Mason; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Cliff and Mary Cole of Hillsboro; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Lowell Cole on July 8, 1997; and one brother, Pern W. Griffith.
Memorial services will be noon Thursday, April 14 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Derek Russell will officiate. Friends may call on Thursday from 11 a.m.-noon at the funeral home.
