Edward “Fox” Robert Ames, 93, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 at The Laurels of Milford.
He was born Dec. 30, 1928, the son of the late Lyman (Harriet) Ames and Cora Perkins Kittrell.
A member of the Ohio Laborers Union, Ed worked construction and built homes. He enjoyed his chew and riding around town on his lawn mower. Watching wrestling was his favorite pastime. Every month he made a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
Ed is survived by brother, Terry (Joyce) Kittrell; a sister, Donna Curtis of Hillsboro; daughters, Renee (Lee) Curtis, Nancy Ames, Michelle Ames, Regina Zimmerman, Joslyn Ames, Aimee Ames and Katherine (Allen Underwood) Ames; 23 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Scoville Ames; a brother, Gilbert Ames; a sister, Myrtle Jackson; and sons, Malcolm, David and Robert L.; a daughter, Kelly; and special friends, Stanley Burns and William (Bill) Siddons.
