Earl C. Burns, 84, of Hillsboro, passed away Feb. 8, 2022 at Heartland of Hillsboro.  
 
He was born Aug. 8, 1937 in Manchester, Ky., the son of the late Delbert and Jeanie (Hensley) Burns.
 
Earl was a member of Fayettville First Baptist Church and a United States Army veteran, having served in Korea. He was a pastor for many years and was a delivery truck driver for Frisch's for 30 years. Earl was an avid outdoorsman, and he enjoyed hunting and his horses.
 
Surviving are his loving wife of 63 years, Barbara Burns of Hillsboro; four children, Debbie Burns of New Market, Linda (John) Hargett of Linwood, N.C., Troy (Sue) Burns of Peebles and Dan (Julie) Burns of Cincinnati; 11 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
 
In addition to his parents, Earl was preceded in death by his son, Greg Burns; and three brothers, Paul, Robert “Bobby” and Larry Burns.
 
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2022 at 10 a.m. at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro, with Pastors Daryl Roundtree and John Wright officiating. Interment will follow Tuesday at 1 p.m. in the Butler County Memorial Park, 4570 Trenton-Oxford Rd., Hamilton.
 
Friends will be received Monday, Feb. 14, 2022 from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
