Dwight Lewis Hester, 64, of Chillicothe, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009 in Circleville, Ohio.
He was born June 21, 1945 in Ross County, Ohio, the son of the late Harold Dwight and Nora Ellen (Spurgeon) Hester.
He was retired from RLS, Chillicothe, where he served as the sales manager. He was also a former employee of Johnson Controls of Greenfield. He was a member of American Legion Post 757 of Chillicothe and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by two sons, Dwight L. (Yvonne) Hester, Jr. of South Salem and Jeffery A. (Kendra) Hester of Greenfield; two daughters, Tracey L. (Frank) Baker-Hester of Greenfield and Priscilla L. Hester of Greenfield; one stepson, Henry Crowe of Chillicothe; one stepdaughter, Annie Wright of Chillicothe; three brothers, Lawrence (Linda) Hester of Bainbridge, Warren (Pamela) Hester of Leesburg, and Gary (Bonnie) Hester of Greenfield; five sisters, Viola Cokonougher of Washington C.H., Libby (Bill) Hayden of Cincinnati, Mary (Kenneth) Kingery of Circleville, Violet (Jim) Stratton of Chillicothe, and Ruth Cheatwood of Chillicothe; 15 grandchildren, Anthony Hester, Felicia Hester, Robert Warden IV, Anthony Warden, Alyssa Warden, Clayton Henson, Zachary Kerns, Sabrina Hester, Justin Hester, Cheilsea Hester, Jeffery Baker-Hester, Sara Snyder, Kaylie Snyder, Mia Snyder, and Desirea Kuykendall; numerous nieces and nephews, including Bob Hester, who was raised as his brother; and former wives Patricia Hester of Greenfield and Linda Hester of Chillicothe.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Melody Hester; four sisters, Martha Barnhart, Fern Tapp, Barbara Hester, and Dorothy Watson; and one brother, Harold Dwight Hester, Jr.
Services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 3, 2009 at the Murray-Fettro Funeral Home in Greenfield with Pastor Wayne Combs officiating. Burial will be held in the South Salem Cemetery, where military rites will be performed by the Concerned Veterans of Greenfield. A visitation is scheduled for 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 2, 2009 with Veterans Appreciation Services to be held at 7:30 p.m.
