Dwendolyn Beatty
Dwendolyn Beatty, 92, of Hillsboro, passed away Oct. 17, 2024 at Highland District Hospital.
She was born Aug. 13, 1932 in Mason County, Ky., the daughter of the late William Rexter and Lena Mae Bishop Paynter.
Dwendolyn attended Pricetown Church of Christ. She was an avid quilt maker, having made over 50 quilts, giving them to family members and donating to the Southern Ohio Pregnancy Center. In addition to quilting, she enjoyed embroidery, crafts, sewing and adult coloring to keep her hands and mind busy. Dwendolyn was a kind soul. She was lovingly called Grandma, Grammy and Great Beatty by her many grandchildren.
Dwendolyn is survived by her children, Venita (Greg Young) Minton of Florence, Ky. and Kenneth (Roxanne) Beatty of Pricetown; grandchildren, Elishia (Mark) Breetz, Howard (Melinda) Creighton, Nicholas (Brittni) Beatty, Ryan (Morgan) Minton and Mallory (Shawn) Patterson; great-grandchildren, Madysyn (Rebekah) Groden, Gavin (Christina) Creighton, Tyler (Madi) Minton, Mason McGinnis, Rylee Beatty, Parker Beatty, Kayla Beatty, Scarlett Patterson, Teagan Patterson and Cole Young; and a special friend and neighbor, Linea Wagner.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Beatty, on May 6, 2004; daughter, Loretta Ann Beatty; sisters, Shirley Roades and Winifred Griffith; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard Roades, Ann Creditt and Thelma Robbins.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Oct. 24, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of service at 1 p.m. at Pricetown Church of Christ, 2070 state Route 131, Hillsboro 45133. Burial will follow at Barker Cemetery.
