Dorothy Mable Tate
Dorothy Mable Tate, 89, of Hillsboro, passed away Feb. 7, 2024, surrounded by her family.
She was born April 18, 1934 in Crossville, Tenn., the daughter of the late WJ and Rebecca Neff Kerley.
Dorothy was the owner of Cedar Hill Motel. She loved going to her church, Hillsboro Bible Baptist Church. Dorothy was a hard worker; she was always working on a project, whether it be mowing her yard, canning or spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Chris (Ginny) Tate of Hamilton, Kimbrala Tate of Iowa, Brandon (Kendra) Tate of Carlisle, Codey (Heather) Tate of Hillsboro and Cortni Tate; great-grandchildren, Laynie, Cameron, Rhea, Jayce, Caycen, Braxton and Alyah; stepdaughter, Linda (Denny) Green of Covington, Ohio; brother, Marvin Kerley; and close friends, Beth Goss, David Layer and John Sexton.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Tate; son, Ronald Tate; grandson, Kyle Johnson; and several sisters.
Visitation will be held Monday, Feb. 12, 2024 from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon at Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Burial will follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens.
