Dorothy Elaine Johnson

Dorothy Elaine Johnson, 88, of Hillsboro, passed away Friday, Jan. 10, 2025 with her husband, Russell, by her side.  
 
She was born May 24, 1936 in Highland County, the daughter of the late Charles Edward "Eddie" and Silvia Frost Sexton.
 
Dorothy was a graduate of Fairfield High School, class of 1954.
 
On Feb. 9, 1962, Dorothy married Russell Johnson and they traveled life's pathway together for 62 years. 

Beside Russell other survivors include sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Doris and William Edenfield; brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Linda Johnson; sister-in-law, Gayle Lindaman; nephew, Mark (Dawn) Edenfield; nephew, Chris Edenfield; niece, Kim (Robin) Walker; nephew, Jay Johnson (friend Darlene); nephew, Doug (Jennifer) Johnson; niece, Deanna (Stephen) Livesay; great-nephews and nieces, Heath Edenfield (friend Julie); Grant (Julie) Edenfield; Seth (Jocelyn )Walker; Quinn (Michael) Manion; LeAnn (Kyle) Mastropasque; Bill Frazer; Tori (Felix) Catheline; Andrea (Brad) Gilyard; and Elizabeth (Brad) Buckingham; great-great-nieces and nephews are, Eden Edenfield, Trinity Edenfield, Kayden Edenfield, Jace Edenfield, Brooklyn Edenfield, Rowan Edenfield, Ryker Edenfield, Gianna Edenfield, Barrett Mastropasque, Madison Frazer, Gia Catheline, Lawson Gilyard, Emily Buckingham and Elle Livesay.
 
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by a brother, Maynard; and brother-in-law, Pete Lindaman.

Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 18 in the New Market Cemetery with Pastor Lloyd Shoemaker officiating.
