Donna Brown Throckmorton, 80, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020.
She was born in Martinsville on Jan. 27, 1940, the daughter of the late Alva and Margaret (Wilson) Brown.
Donna worked at Robertshaw Controls, Seal-Tite and retired from Candle-Lite. Donna loved her family, traveling, elephants, taking photos and riding motorcycles.
On Dec. 27, 1956, Donna was united in marriage to Herbert E. Throckmorton, Sr., who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 2007, having celebrated over 50 years together.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Christy Throckmorton and Joyce Throckmorton of Hillsboro; two sons, Herb Throckmorton, Jr., of Hillsboro and Adam (Gayle) Throckmorton of Lynchburg; daughter-in-law, Kay Throckmorton of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Marty and Becca Edison, John, Corey, Brian and Melanie Ballein and Phillip, Courtney, Lyndsey and Logan Throckmorton; several great-grandchildren; sisters, Phyllis Bowen, Shelia Whiting and Chrystal Smith; several nieces, nephews and cousins’ and a host of friends.
Besides her husband, Donna was preceded in death by a son, Joseph Throckmorton; grandchildren, Tom Ballein, Sara Throckmorton and David Ballein; sisters and brother, Ethel Naylor, Jean Pitzer, Francis Ray Brown, Debbie Allen and Sandy Allen.
According to Donna's wishes, she will be cremated. Burial will be at the Rockwell Cemetery in Lucasville.
The services are entrusted to the Thompson Funeral Home and Cremation Services in Hillsboro.
