Donald Gene Baldridge, 77, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021, at his home with his family by his side.
He was born on Jan. 4, 1944, in David, Ky., the son of the late Floyd B. and Anna (Burchett) Baldridge.
Donald proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, spending his time in Germany. After his duties in the Army, he became a truck driver for 50 years. He was a member of the Hillsboro Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1161. He enjoyed the outdoors, doing yard work or sitting on his front porch. He also enjoyed woodworking, but most of all he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Donald is survived by his two children, Kimberly (Jeff) Hauke of Hillsboro and Don (Angela) Baldridge of Hillsboro; six grandchildren, Blake (Lorin) Kibler of Hillsboro, Jordan (Ebony) Kibler of Hillsboro, Elizabeth (Ben) Burkard of Hillsboro, Ashley (Steve) Dennis of Illinois, Garrett Baldridge of Hillsboro and Jenna Baldridge of Hillsboro; 14 great-grandchildren, Weston Kibler, Grayson Kibler, Paxton Kibler, Jayceon Kibler, Jayona Kibler, Micah Kibler, Cameron Burkard, Braydon Burkard, Ashton Burkard, Noah Hauke, Landan Hauke, Logan Hauke, Brielle Dennis and Ella Baldridge; four siblings, Sandy Richter of Germantown, Nellie Reffitt of Hillsboro, Patty (Larry) Davidson of Florida and Ernie (Martha) Baldridge of Hillsboro; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four siblings, twin brother Floyd Baldridge, Betty Roberds, Monty Baldridge and Judy Doorman; two brothers-in-law, Archie Richter and Clyde Reffitt.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. Celebration of Donald’s life will take place at 1p.m. following visitation on Oct. 16 at the church. The Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial, with military honors presented by the Highland County Honor Guard, will follow services in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Memorials may be made in Donald’s name to the Hospice of Hope, 909 Kenton Station Drive, Maysville, Ky. 41056.
