Dean Reuben Craycraft

Dean Reuben Craycraft, 75, passed away Saturday, Nov. 21, 2015 at the Kingston of Miamisburg in Miamisburg.
He was born Feb. 25, 1940 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Chester and Ophelia (Matelski) Craycraft.
Mr. Craycraft went to school in Belfast until his senior year and graduated from Wayne High School in Huber Heights. He received his teaching degree from the University of Dayton.
Mr. Craycraft retired after 31 years of teaching social studies and government at the Tecumseh High School in Clark County. He was awarded Teacher of the Year in the entire county and he helped start the student congress at the Tecumseh High School.
He was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Huber Heights. He had a passion for genealogy, collecting coins and he was an avid bowler.
He is survived by one brother, Chuck (Rose) Craycraft of Hillsboro; four nieces and nephews, Matt (Susan) Craycraft of Mims, Fla., Ann (Doug) Ernst of Hillsboro, Nathan (Mandy) Craycraft of Williamsburg and Sarah (Jason) Myers of Hillsboro; 12 great-nieces and nephews, Michael, Gabriel, Joseph and Lucy Craycraft, Kelley, Connor and Contessa Ernst, Keegan Craycraft, Cheyney, Cadence, Callan and Cohen Myers.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant niece, Margaret Craycraft.
There will be no public visitation. Friends and family are welcome to attend the Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Hillsboro. Father Mike Paraniuk will be the celebrant.
Burial will follow in the Coss Cemetery in Belfast.
