David Wilson Collins, 76, of Hillsboro, passed away Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2020.
David was born Dec. 5, 1944 in Marietta, the son of the late Kenneth and Martha (Schieber) Collins.
After graduating from high school, David attended William Jefferson College and graduated from Marietta College. While attending Marietta College, David played baseball for the college. After graduation, David went to work for Woolworth's five-and-dime store in Baltimore, Md.
When Woolworth closed, David went to work for Inland Construction in Baltimore and later transferred to Raleigh, N.C. David loved building, construction and yard work. David enjoyed making pies for his friends.
David is survived by his wife, Barbara Lynn (Myers) Collins; two stepsons, Johnny Howard of Bethel and Jeff Howard of Carlisle, Ky.; five grandchildren, Heather Renee, Ashton Nicole and Joshua Thomas of Carlisle, Ky., Joseph Levi of Midland and Sabrina Noel of Bethel; one sister, Betty Boeshko of Florida; and nieces, Lisa Slane of Louisville, Ohio and Beth Ann Parks of Phoenix, Ariz.
A memorial service will be held at a later date in the spring.
