David R. “Ronald” Helterbrand, 80, of Leesburg, passed away Thursday, Dec. 23, 2021 at Adams County Regional Medical Center.
He was born on Oct. 10, 1941, in Peebles, the son of the late Lawrence and Cora (Lorenzo) Helterbrand.
He was a former employee of Hobart Corporation of Hillsboro with 37 years of service. He also served in the Army National Guard.
He is survived by three sons, Dwayne Helterbrand of Leesburg, Rodney (Lisa) Helterbrand of Danville and Randall (Kathy) Helterbrand of Wilmington; four grandchildren, Bethany (Chad) Hart of Lynchburg, Brett (Chelsea Hughes) Helterbrand of Mt. Orab, Cailey Helterbrand of Danville and Branden Helterbrand of Georgetown; three great-granddaughters, Kynleigh Hart, Anna Helterbrand and Ella Helterbrand; one sister, Sandra (Keith) Tong of Canton; one niece, Krista (Jamie) Spencer; and one nephew, Brian Tong both of Canton.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara J. Helterbrand, on March 30, 2019.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 29 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro with Pastor Dan Lamb officiating. Burial will follow in the Resthaven Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until time of the service at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
