David Eugene Roades, 80, of Hillsboro, passed away surrounded by his family Wednesday evening, Dec. 17, 2014 at the Crestwood Nursing Center in Hillsboro.

He was born April 22, 1934 in Pricetown, the son of the late Gilbert Vincent and Hattie Juanita (Taylor) Roades.

On Nov. 15, 1955, he married Roberta Breuer, who preceded him in death on Aug. 19, 2002.

David was a member of Hillsboro Church of Christ and had worked for many years at Kaufman's and then Haines Clothing Store in downtown Hillsboro.

Surviving are his three daughters, Cindi (Larry) Krasniewski of Oak Harbor, Candy (Tom) Leininger of Lynchburg and Nancy (Ken) Apgar of Hillsboro; nine grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-granddaughters.

In addition to his parents and wife, David was preceded in death by his son, David Kent Roades.

Graveside funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 20 at the Hamer Township Cemetery, with Pastor Jim Bush officiating.

The Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro is serving the family.
