Daniel "Danny" Lee Minton, 69, of Newnan, Ga., formerly of Lynchburg, passed away Thursday, Aug. 29, 2024 at Piedmont Newnan Hospital, surrounded by his wife, daughter and son-in-law.

He was born Nov. 26, 1954, in Cincinnati, to the late Marion "Skeet" Minton and Joan Magly-Waits.

Danny's childhood years were in Milford, but he moved to the Buford/Lynchburg area in his teens and was a 1973 graduate of Lynchburg-Clay High School. He was a loving husband, a deeply devoted, extremely loyal big brother, and he boasted daily of how proud he was of his children "Biggin" and "Bitsy."

Danny embraced his entire family, which included friends and acquaintances, and every stranger (of which he met none) with love and compassion; he relished in their lives, reliving memories. He walked through life with wide open heart and big booming voice ready to welcome any and everyone into his life excited to tell them about his Jesus "Poppa." His presence will be extremely missed.

A celebration of life service will be Sunday, Oct. 6 from 1-5 p.m. at the firehouse in Lynchburg, 8123 S.R. 135, Lynchburg. Please feel free to come and celebrate Danny's life with his family and friends. Bring your favorite memories, stories and memorabilia that you would like to share.

Survivors include: his wife, Anita Kinser, of Newnan, Ga.; a son, Casey (Jessica) Minton, of Livermore, Calif.; a daughter, Nola (Bill) Crawford, of Newnan, Ga.; sisters, Sherri Blevins of Blanchester, Melodie (Mike) Wilkin of Lynchburg and Melissa (Kip) Funke of Loveland; brothers, Mike (Linda) Minton of Sardinia, Bryon (Kim) Minton of St. Pete Beach, Fla.; stepmother, Eva Minton of Milford; grandkids, Kyra Minton, Dylan Minton, Lilah Minton, and Blake Crawford; stepsons, Richard (Nicole) Rhyne of Norman Okla., Sam Rhyne of Los Angeles, Calif., and DJ (Alexis) Rosario of Amelia; another 22 bonus grandchildren; and six bonus great-grandchildren.
