Dale R. Rayburn, 69, of Hillsboro, passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after a long battle with Huntington’s disease.
Dale was born Dec. 29, 1947 in Greenfield, the son of the late Richard Charles and Doris (Lewis) Rayburn.
He owned and operated D.R. Rayburn Construction for over 30 years.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Diana Rayburn; three children, Roger (Tracy) Rayburn of Hillsboro, Kim (Michael) Lee-Banks of Lynchburg and Michael (Melanie) Rayburn of Peebles; 10 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, Richard (Rick) Rayburn; grandson, Patrick Allen Lee; son-in-law, Richard A. (Rich) Lee; and brothers Gary Rayburn, Chuck Rayburn and Bill Austin.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Fairview Church of Christ. Funeral services will begin following visitation at 1 p.m. officiated by Bob Wickline at the Fairview Church of Christ. Burial will follow at Strange Cemetery, with Don Thomas officiating.
