Custer C. Renchen, 92, of Hillsboro, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 22, 2021 at Mercy Anderson Hospital in Cincinnati.  
 
He was born Aug. 21, 1929 in Lewis County, Ky., the son of the late Dewey Renchen and Lena Inez Hayes Renchen.
 
Custer was a United States Army veteran, having served during the Korean War.
 
Surviving are his four children, Connie (Jim) Adams, Jeffrey (Lisa) Renchen, Samantha (Gary) Wilson and Mark Renchen; seven grandchildren, Mike Hart, Jason Adams, Josh Renchen, Jacob Renchen, Ryan Renchen, Susan Wilson and Austin Renchen, nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Esther Singleton.
 
In addition to his parents, Custer was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Marie Renchen, who passed away Nov. 15, 2015; son, Ronnie Renchen; and nine brothers and sisters.
 
Services will be held Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 at 1 p.m. at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, 138 E. Main St. Hillsboro with Pastor Lloyd Shoemaker officiating. Interment will follow in the Hamer Township Cemetery, Danville, where the Highland County Honor Guard will accord full military honors.
 
Friends will be received Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the services at the funeral home.
