Connie M. Sears, 74, of Hillsboro, passed from this life into eternity on Saturday, May 22, 2021.
Connie was born April 22, 1947 in Columbus to Frank and LaVonne Creamer.
Connie was a graduate of Miami Trace High School in 1965 and was a graduate of Cincinnati Bible Seminary in 1969. While at Cincinnati Bible Seminary, she met and married her husband of 53 years, Jerry Sears, on May 24, 1968. After graduating from C.B.S., she began her teaching career at Riverdale Elementary school in Riverdale, Mich., where she taught for three years. She then taught for one year at Madison Mills Elementary School in the Miami Trace District.
Connie and her husband then moved to Oklahoma, where she spent 10 years at Cookson Hills Christian School as a teacher, librarian, choir director and house parent. After serving at Cookson Hills, she and her family moved to northern California in 1983, where she taught at Oroville Christian School for five years. In the fall of 1988, Connie and her husband were asked to come to Los Angeles to work with the Inglewood Christian School. During her time at Inglewood Christian School, Connie was a classroom teacher, curriculum writer and assisted in administration.
In the summer of 2005, Connie and her husband moved back to Ohio, where she taught for two years at Highland County Christian School in Hillsboro. She became the administrator of Hillsboro Christian Academy when it was formed in 2007 and continued to the present. Connie was a member of the Marshall Church of Christ, where she played the piano, organ and used her vocal talents.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of 53 years; two sons, Mark Verbeck of Dry Ridge, Ky. and Russell Lee of Siloam Springs, Ark.; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, James R. “Pete” Creamer (wife Marla) of Xenia and J. Randall “Randy” Creamer (wife Sue Ann) of Waynesville; a sister, Marylin Weidman (husband Matt) of Washington Court House; a brother-in-law, John Mark Sears; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and LaVonne Creamer, of Washington Court House.
Plans are being made for a celebration of life service to be held at Hillsboro Christian Academy on June 5. An informal visitation will be from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. with a celebration of life service beginning at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Hillsboro Christian Academy building fund or the Ed Bousman Evangelistic Association, P.O. Box 511, Lynchburg, Ohio 45142.

Mrs. Sears was my 1st grade…
Mrs. Sears was my 1st grade teacher, I always thought about her when she left I.C.S and she always brought good memories to me! I cherish her warm spirit and smile and for some reason I just randomly searched her name because she’s been on my mind! Rest in heaven ❤️
