Colleen Kay McManaman Elmore, 81, of Fleming Island, Fla., passed away April 2, 2022 in Florida.
She was born Oct. 14, 1940 in Olney, Ill., the daughter of the late Paul V. and Kathleen McManaman.
Colleen was a graduate of Albion High School. After high school graduation, she attended college, where she met and married David Lloyd Elmore. Colleen and Dave moved to Hillsboro, and Colleen owned and operated the Koffee Kup Restaurant. She was an excellent cook and loved to entertain friends and have fish fries.
Colleen and Dave later moved to Orange Park, Fla., and Colleen worked managing a couple of restaurants. She met her “true calling” at River Garden Senior Services, where she worked for 20 years bringing smiles to all she met.
She is survived by one son, Brad (Melissa) Elmore of Hillsboro; one daughter, Stephanie (Thom) Jones of Florida; five grandchildren, Nathan Jones, Tyler Jones, Jordan (Chevy) Taylor, Gabrielle Elmore and Brandon Elmore; and nieces and nephews, Erin (John) Patrick, Kathy Kurek, Barry McManaman, Brian McManaman and Shawn McManaman.
Family and friends are invited to attend a celebration of Colleen’s life that will be held Friday, April 29 at 7 p.m. at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Jason Bowman will officiate. Burial will take place in Illinois. Visitation will be held from 5:30-7 p.m. on Friday, April 29 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
