Clarence Wesley “Sonny” Zile, Jr., 80, of Sinking Spring passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Bethesda North Hospital in Montgomery.
He was born June 12, 1935 in Springfield, the son of the late Clarence Wesley and Lulu Irene (Clary) Zile.
Mr. Zile had been a union carpenter and pastor for many years. He had been the Mayor of Sinking Spring for several years and had pastored churches in Burns Chapel, Beavers Chapel, Hillsboro, Greenfield, West Union, McArthur and presently serving the Harriett Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Katheleen Elliott Zile, whom he married on Dec. 29, 1954; two sons, Reverend Tom (Debbie) Zile of Hillsboro and Dr. Ron (Mary) Zile of Lake Waynoka; four grandchildren, Lindsay (Tyler) Inman, Tiffany (Clint) McCoy of Hillsboro, Jordan Zile of Winona, Minn. and Jessica Zile of Columbus; two great-grandchildren, Easton and Austin Inman; one sister, Mary Lou Hanson of West Union; and one brother, John (Marie) Zile of Georgia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Justin Michael Zile; and three sisters, Genevieve Elliott, Doris McElwee and Mildred Irene Humphrey.
Services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, May 21 at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Tom Zile will officiate. Burial will follow in the Locust Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Friday from 5-8 p.m. at the Hillsboro Church of the Nazarene, 8230 U.S. 50, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.
