Clarence J. "Bud" Brown, Jr., 94, of Urbana passed away Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2022 with his loving wife, Joyce, by his side.

Mr. Brown represented the Seventh Congressional District of Ohio as a Republican in the U.S. House of Representatives for 17 years from 1965-83. He was first elected in a special election to succeed his father, Clarence J. Brown, Sr., who had represented the district from 1938-65.

Mr. Brown was Ohio's Republican nominee for governor in 1982.

Mr. Brown is survived by his wife, Joyce Eldridge Brown; children, Clarence J. “Clancy” (Jeanne Johnson-Brown) Brown III, Catherine “Cate” Brown Brinnon and Roy Eldridge (Christine Nazarovech) Brown.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 1 at the Vernon Family Funeral Homes in Urbana.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 2 at the First Presbyterian Church, 116 W. Court Street, Urbana. Live stream will be available on the Vernon Funeral Home Facebook page beginning at 10:55 a.m.

Burial will follow in OakDale Cemetery in Urbana, beginning with military honors.
