Charlotte Rae Brabson, 82, of Hillsboro, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at her home.
She was born Dec. 16, 1935 in Knoxville, Tenn., the daughter of the late Ernest Randall and Florence Macie Johnson.
Mrs. Brabson had worked in healthcare for 35 years as a STNA working for the Whitehouse Nursing Center, Oakland Nursing Home and Heartland Nursing Home. She also had worked for ten years for ABX in Wilmington.
She is survived by eight children, Jerry Ballard and Patty Ballard Faustman of Kettering, Randy (Karla) Ballard of Colorado, Kirk Douglas Ballard of Hillsboro, Clarence (Mary) Brabson of Zionville, Ind., Tammy (Chris) Wehrs of Hilliard, Mark Brabson of Hillsboro and Tonya (John Ross) Wimer of Hillsboro; 21 grandchildren, Kathryn (Thomas) Terlau, Hollie, Mitchell, Bobby and Cory Ballard, Jason Ballard, Brittany Ballard, Kirklynn and Jared Ballard, Bradley Craig, Justin Brabson, Leeanna (Paul) Kersey, Chad (Katie) King, Ashley O’Malley, Andrew Wehrs, Mark Brabson Jr., Marissa (Brandon) Mann, Shawnya Mahorney, Riley and Ryan Wimer and Everett Ross; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Brabson Jr., on Jan. 13, 2008; one grandson, Christopher Brabson; and one brother, Jack Romaine.
Services will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, May 17 at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Pastor Danny Brabson will officiate. Burial will follow in the Coss Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home.
