Charles William Michael, 77, of New Vienna, passed away Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 at Highland District Hospital in Hillsboro.
He was born Feb. 9, 1944 in Hillsboro, the son of the late Donald E. Michael and Loree Maxwell Michael.
Bill liked to go to cattle shows and working with cattle. In his younger years, he traveled all over the U.S. showing, buying and selling cattle. He also liked vintage Mustangs, buying and restoring them, and going to swap meets. He was a member of the American Chianina Association.
Surviving are a son, Adam W. (Tiffiney L.) Michael of Hillsboro; a daughter, Sarah (Chris) Riley of New Vienna; two granddaughters, Hannah Riley and Abby Riley; two sisters, Donna (Jerry) Shelton and Debbie Hauke; a brother, John (Diane) Michael; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Michael; a sister, Carla Gall; and a grandson, Tyler William Elbe Michael.
Services will be held at Rhoads-Edgington Funeral Home, Hillsboro, Wednesday, Jan. 5 at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Derek Russell officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 5.
