Charles R. Watson, 87, of Hillsboro passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at his home.
He was born Nov. 5, 1928 in Bethelridge, Ky., the son of the late Noel and Opal McKee Watson.
Mr. Watson was a retired employee of the General Motors Company in Norwood. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles for over 65 years.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys Rook Watson, whom he married on July 7, 1951 in Elmwood; three daughters, Cynthia (Claude) Berry of Mebane, N.C., Kimberly (Michael) Kuwatch of Goshen and Carol (David) Patmann of Cincinnati; one son, Kenneth (Connie) Watson of Bethel; seven grandchildren, Donovan, Melissa, Christina, Valerie, Monica, Matthew and Michael; nine great-grandchildren, Tre, Mateo, Kenedy, Nathan, Taryn, Jackson, Deklan, Audry and Ronan; three sisters, Lois Pike of Dunedin, Fla., Ina (Charles) Hartke of Loveland, and Wilda Wagner of Maineville; one brother, Glenn (Ginny) Watson of Maineville; and many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Paul Watson; and a sister, Jean Stevens.
Services will be 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Turner & Son Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Matthew Patmann will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at 2:45 p.m. Wednesday at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Glendale. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home. FOE Aerie 1161 services will begin at 11:30 a.m. followed immediately by traditional services.
