Charles Lee Gossett, 78, of the Pricetown community, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, Nov. 28, 2021 at Anderson Mercy Hospital in Cincinnati.
He was born Dec. 30, 1942 in Hillsboro, the son of the late John H. and Thelma (Workman) Gossett.
He was a member of the Pricetown Church of Christ, where he had served as a Sunday School teacher, deacon and elder. Charles Lee was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and subsequently served as Captain of the Fire Department at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for 20 years. After his retirement from Wright-Patt, he farmed for nearly 40 years.
Charles Lee is survived by his wife of 58 years, Linda P. (Riggle) Gossett, whom he married Nov. 16, 1963 in Champaign, Ill.; four children, Leann Simmons, Trenton Gossett, Sonia (George) Cassity and Heather (Troy) Hammond; close family friend, Terri Gossett; grandchildren, Zach Simmons, Callie (Baron) Simmons-Frost, Ethan (Miranda) Simmons, Alicia (Zach) Pack, Zane Cassity, Skyler Cassity, Brogan Cassity, Brianna Hammond, Serena Hammond, Elyse Gossett, Emmy Gossett and Liam Gossett; great-grandchildren Hadley Simmons, Rinn Simmons, Auggie Simmons-Frost, Waylon Pack, Mila Simmons and Kye Willoughby; siblings, Charlotte Mings, John (Chris) Gossett, David Gossett, Ronnie (Lori) Gossett and Charlene (Randy) Roush; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Alan Simmons; and a brother-in-law Donnie Mings.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Dec. 3, 2021 at 1 p.m. at the Pricetown Church of Christ. Daryl Mount and Leo Kuhn will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Veterans Honor Guard will follow at the Barker Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. on Friday at the church.
