Charles Chisman, 82 of Lynchburg, passed away Friday, Jan. 3, 2025 at home surrounded by his loved ones.
He was born April 1, 1942 in Loveland, the son of the late Howard Poe and Cloma (Grande) Chisman.
Following his enlistment in the U.S. Army, Mr. Chisman was a carpenter for many years, and along with his wife he operated C&C Auto Sales in Hillsboro and Chisman Building and Remodeling in Lynchburg for several years. He was an animal lover, especially his dogs, and he never met a stranger. Most of all, he was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Marianne (Price) Chisman, whom he married on Feb. 15, 1979 in Hillsboro. He is also survived by three sons, Scott (Deena) Chisman of Lynchburg, Todd (Angela) Chisman of Wilmington and Chad (Nadine) Chisman of Lynchburg; a stepdaughter, Gayle (Kenny) Wright of Hillsboro; a stepson, Greg (Kim) Parker of Lynchburg; 12 grandchildren, Tyler, Chelsea, Sarah, Austin, Shelby, Brady, Cade, Zackery, Easton, Cole, Brittany and Kaylee; eight great-grandchildren; four nieces; and a special friend, Brooke Shaw.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Norma Griswold; a brother, Nelson Chisman; as well as an infant sister and a grandson, Trey Parker.
In keeping with his wishes, funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no public visitation.

So sorry for your loss. Prayers to all. I knew the last time Uncle Charles called me it was his way of saying goodbye.Thank you Marianne for that and taking care of him. Lots of love and hugs.
