Charles B. Smith, 80, of Mount Orab, passed away Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018 at the Salyer Adult Group Home in Hillsboro.

Charles was born in Rarden on Jan. 8, 1938, the son of the late Jesse and Rosella (Jenkins) Smith.

Charles was a member of the Hillsboro Church of God.

Charles is survived by his four brothers, Harry Smith of Portsmouth, Paul Smith of Wilmington, Dwayne Smith of Rarden and Gary (Karin) Smith of Utah; sister, Shirley Syroney of New Boston; family friend, Melissa (Brian) Taylor of Seaman; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and a host of friends.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Smith, on Feb. 19, 2016; and three sisters, Jessie George, Joann Parr and Joyce Newkirk.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Feb. 9, 2018 at the Hillsboro Church of God. Burial will follow at the Locust Grove Cemetery.

Friends may call from noon until time of service Friday at the Hillsboro Church of God.

Thompson Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
