Carolyn Lee Braley

Carolyn Lee Braley, 81, of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday morning, Oct. 12, 2016 at her home.
She was born July 6, 1935, in Columbus, the daughter of the late Albert and Eleanor M. (Lee) Warner.
She was a member of the Lynchburg United Methodist Church, and loved flowers, cooking and camping. Above all, she was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Rev. Harold F. Braley, whom she married Feb. 8, 1953, in Columbus.
She is also survived by six children, Richard Harold Braley, Nancy Ellen Young, John Robert (Sharon) Braley, James Lee Braley, Ronald Frank Braley and Karen Sue (Steve) Stirm; 14 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a sister, Frances Diane; two brothers, William Carl Warner and David Allen Warner; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son; a grandson, Brian Lee Young; and three siblings, Esther Marie Warner, John Albert Warner and Patricia Elaine Warner.
In keeping with her wishes, she was cremated. A memorial service and celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 23, 2016 at the Lynchburg United Methodist Church. Pastor David Wirth will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of the service at 3 p.m. on Sunday at the church.
