Carol Lee Carmen
Carol Lee Carmen, 78, of Fairborn, passed away peacefully Saturday, April 22, 2023 at Hospice of Dayton.
Carol was born Dec. 5, 1944 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, to the late Matthew J. and Pearl (Smal) Wegiel.
Carol lived a full and enjoyable life. She lived in Japan, Hawaii, Washington state and New Mexico. She loved animals, nascar, fishing, hunting and flowers. She was the mechanic for their stock cars that Eddie raced. She and Eddie raised 6 horses from 1978 until 2002 when she developed heart disease. At some point, they have had, dogs, cats, squirrels, rabbits, chickens and a monkey.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 61 years, George "Eddie" Carmen; her only child, Tina Brewer of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Amy Lynn (Roger) Storer, Heather (Daniel) Vore, Justin (Betty) Brewer, and Joe Brewer; great-grandchildren, Lilith, Eleanor, Chaslynn and Josie; sister-in-law, Kitty (David) Sweet; nieces and nephews; and many friends who will miss her.
Besides her parents, Carol was also preceded in death by her twin brother, William J. Wegiel; son-in-law, Adam T. Brewer; brother-in-law, Carl Brewer; and mother-in-law, Erma Soroko.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, April 29 at the Thompson Funeral Home in Hillsboro.
Pastor Ken Keeton will officiate with burial to follow in the Prospect Cemetery.
Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
