Carl Dean Fetters, age 71, of Leesburg, died Tuesday morning, Nov. 3, 2015 at his residence. 

He was born Oct. 29, 1944, in Columbus, the son of the late Carl Clifton and Donna Elaine (Applegate) Fetters. 

He was a member of the Hardin's Creek Friends Church, a 50-year member of the Leesburg F and AM Lodge #78 and a dedicated North Joint firefighter for the community of Leesburg for 22 years. He had worked for Airborne Express for 20 years and was also the town barber for 52 years. Dean was also known as "Mr. Fix-it" for anyone who had a leaky roof or whatever needed fixed. He was also a member of the Leesburg Lumber Badgers Club. 

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Shirley Paulette (Carson) Fetters, whom he married on May 31, 1964. He is also survived by three children, Chris (Susan) Fetters, Kim (Wayne) Burgess and Brad (Sandy) Fetters; six grandchildren, Brittane (Shaun) Dance, Brandy (Nate) Luke, Courtney Fetters, Brian Fetters, Charity (J.D.) Fetters and Deric Fetters; four great-grandchildren, Remington Levi Barney, Jaxton Neal Polley, Kinsley Lynn Dance and Madelyn Deeann Fetters; a sister, Janice E. ("Cork") Kruse; a nephew, Jason (Amy) Kruse; a great-niece, Alyssa Kruse; two great-nephews, Toby and Titus Kruse; and his mother-in-law, Mildred Marie Carson. 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Herbert Denver Carson.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held at 6 p.m. immediately following Masonic services on Friday, Nov. 6, 2015 at the Leesburg Community Room located at the Highland County North Joint Fire and Ambulance District Station House, 200 South Street, Leesburg. Tony Tompkins and John Fitzgerald will officiate. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of Masonic services at 6 p.m. on Friday.
