Burnett Dudley “Dud” Lucas, 92, of Winchester, passed away on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017 at The Laurels of Hillsboro.
He was born in Centerville on Dec. 30, 1924, the son of the late Burnett and Sarah (Urschel) Lucas.
Burnett served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion #633.
Burnett is survived by his wife, Shirley Lucas, who he married on May 6, 1949; four sons, Bernie (Becky) Lucas of Centerville, Phillip (Nancy) Lucas of Winchester, Daniel (Becky) Lucas of Winchester and Terry (Lisa) Lucas of Leesburg; daughter, Cindy (Bill England) Lucas of Winchester; 19 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by three sisters, Dora Jane Moyer, Alma Johnson and Helen Schubert.
On behalf of Dud’s wishes, he is to be cremated, and burial will be at a later date.
