Buell Edward McBrayer, 88, of Wilmington, passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at his home in Wilmington.
He was born June 9, 1934 in New Boston, the son of the late James Madison McBrayer and Pearl G. Stone McBrayer.
Buell was an avid golfer and lifetime member of the Wilmington Elks Lodge #797, where he had served as the Exalted Ruler three different terms. He was the owner-operator of an auto repair shop and had owned several automotive parts stores in the Wilmington area for many years. He especially enjoyed spending winters in Florida.
Surviving are his daughter, Denise (Philip) Johnson; son, Brian (Lisa) McBrayer; six grandchildren, Lindsay (Ben Mulkey) Holliday, Joseph (Heather) Holliday, Summer (Julie Brock) McBrayer, Nicholas Holliday, Ryan (April) McBrayer and Kyle (Midori) McBrayer; 10 great-grandchildren, Aaron Lightle, Trent Holliday, Lexi Arehart McBrayer, Robbie McBrayer, Lyla Mulkey, twins Abigail and Paislee McBrayer and Kelsie, Braden and Andrew Wasson; and his sister, Marjorie See.
In addition to his parents, Buell was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma S. McBrayer; twin sons, Dennis and David McBrayer; and a brother, Elmer McBrayer.
A memorial service will be held Monday, Aug. 1, 2022 at 4 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home, Wilmington.
Friends will be received Monday, Aug. 1 from 3-4 p.m. at Fisher-Edgington Funeral Home.
